Vicki Jane Mason was born on May 2, 1940 in Borger, Texas. She was the only child of Hazel Victoria and Frank Weland Keith. In 1945 Vicki was struck with Polio and spent several years with surgeries and experimental treatments such as snake venom. After years of exercise and walking with a brace Vicki was able to walk with almost no limp. She did have a loss of muscle in her left leg and that leg was shorter which caused a lifetime of back pain.
Vicki married in January of 1956 and gave birth to her first child Debra Sue James in November of 1956. Her Husband Horace died from Cancer at a young age. Vicki married Wayne Douglas Niblack in July of 1959. Their son Wayne Douglas Jr. was born in June of 1961. The Niblack family move to Deer Park, Tx in 1966 and both children graduated from Deer Park High. The Niblack family were active members of 1st Baptist Church of Deer Park. In 1970 the Niblack’s opened a Christain Book Store in Pasadena. The store was successful until Vicki suffered from a stroke in 1975 that prevented her ability to Manage the Bookstore. The stroke Vicki suffered from kept her in rehab for six months. She had to re-learn how to walk, talk, read, and write. Wayne Sr. passed away in 1995 and Vicki moved to Pasadena where she worked in a Christain Bookstore and as Teachers Aid in a Christain School.
Vicki was introduced to Jerry Mason while working in the Bookstore and over time they decided to marry and move to Point, Texas. They were married 17 years before Jerry’s death from cancer. After this Vicki moved back to Houston to be close to her children. In 2021 Vicki lost her son Wayne Jr. to Covid. From this time until Vicki’s death she remained active with her daughter teaching Bible Study on Wed. and Sun. at the Nursing Care. Vicki’s daughter Debra Laux continues the Bible Study to the glory of God and the memory of her mother Vicki Jane Mason. The members of the Bible Study group are also part of our family and morn along with many loving staff of Medical Resort of Bay Area.
