Silvia Salazar Gonzalez, a cherished soul born on May 26, 1958, in South Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in her beloved hometown. A retired dedicated worker from the retail industry, Silvia exemplified a life filled with hard work, joy, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Silvia's vibrant personality shone brightly through her passions—she loved to dance and cherished the time spent playing loteria with her family, an activity that often-echoed laughter and camaraderie. Her enthusiasm for going to estate sales and garage sales was infectious, as was her reputation for cooking the best tamales around town. Silvia delighted in sharing this culinary treasure with her loved ones, forging memories around her dinner table that will be embraced deeply by those who had the privilege of tasting her creations.
Family was at the heart of Silvia's world. She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Jose M. Gonzalez, daughter, Stephanie R. Salazar, son, Jacob Salazar, and daughter-in-law, Florentina Salazar. Grandma Silvia found joy in her grandchildren: John David Salazar and Mariana Adelina Salazar, who brought light into her life, and she looked forward to each moment spent with them. Her love extended to her sisters, San Juana Flores, Ortencia Gamez, and Yolanda Brignac, as well as her brothers, Trinidad Salazar and Julio Salazar.
Silvia's legacy continues with her stepchildren, Priscilla Davila and her husband Johnny, Joel Gonzalez and his wife Raemi, Yvette Castillo and her husband Roman, and Joe Eric Gonzalez, all of whom cherished their time with her. Her spirit will live on through her adoring grandchildren, Javier and Yazmine Davila, Gabriel, Nayhla, Gisselle, Eliana Castillo, Espen Garcia, Easton and Arianna Gonzalez, whose hearts she touched deeply. Her fur babies, Lika, Coco and White-Tip never left her side to bring comfort and protection.
In losing Silva, we recognize the absence left behind, particularly remembering her late father, Louis D. Salazar, her late mother, Janie C. Salazar, her stepfather, John Ramirez, and her late sister, Maria Victoria Arellano. They, along with honorary pallbearers Joe Louis Salazar and Luis Alejandro Ayala, welcome her embrace in the next life.
Silvia Salazar Gonzalez will be missed profoundly by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memories will live on in the stories shared, the joyous dances remembered, and the laughter echoed in playing games together. As we grieve her departure, we celebrate the incredible life she led, the love she gave, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
