San Juana (“Janie”) Escobedo, 75, passed away on October 15, 2022. She was born on April 8, 1947, in Sinton, Texas to parents Ambrosia Bilek and Louis Teames. She proudly grew up in El Campo, Texas alongside beloved sisters, Ruby Teames Reyes and Mary Louis Teames, and brother, Tony Bilek. She married the love of her life, Liborio Escobedo, in 1978 and cultivated a beautiful, strong marriage of 41 years that was admired by their family and community. Janie was a wonderful mother to her son, Daniel Escobedo, and will be forever remembered for her constant love, patience, and selflessness. She was known by her loved ones and family for her cunning wit, integrity, and devotion to her faith. She is preceded in death by her mother, Ambrosia Bilek, father, Louis Teames, sister, Mary Louis Teames, and Husband, Liborio Escobedo. She is survived by her sister, Ruby, brother, Tony, son Daniel and step-daughter Lori, nephews, John, Santos, and Peter, and nieces, Ruby (“Nini”) and Sonia. We thank you for being with us as we honor the life of this remarkable woman whose life was a blessing to us all.
