Rev. Marcelino Hernandez Sr. was born April 26, 1930 to Herculano and Julia Hernandez in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. He was one of ten children. He grew up in Nuevo Laredo and during his teen years took interest in the faith. He was drawn to the worship and praise of music. While becoming closer to h is faith, through church he met and married Dolores Castillo. Rev. Marcelino was a farmworker and often took his growing family with him on his travels. His work took him all over the U.S. After giving his life to the Lord, Rev. Hernandez was called to preach the gospel in 1965. He served many years under Concilio Latino Americano de Iglesias Cristianas, preaching in different cities. Rev. Hernandez retired from ministry and lived in the house he built with his own two hands. He enjoyed tending to his garden and feeding his chickens. He took pride in fixing things himself. He spent many days and evenings sitting on his porch singing coritos. He faithfully attended his local church Cristo es la Respuesta. Rev. Hernandez joined the Lord on April 9, 2024 in El Cenizo, TX. Rev. Marcelino Hernandez is survived by his children: Victor Hernandez, Dolores De La Cruz (Raul De La Cruz Sr.) and Rut Beasley (Wallace Beasley). And his spouse Elvira Garcia. His grandchildren: Noe Jr., Noemi, Cristina, Rebecca, Raul Jr., Deborah, Melinda, Abraham Jr., Esmeralda, Laura, Theresa, Corina, Lissa, Mary Ann, Kevin, Jennifer, Donna, Isaac, Samuel, Matthew, Paul, Gracie and Jazmine. 50 Great Grandchildren & 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Marcelino is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolores Hernandez, his daughters Hermelinda, Irma and Graciela Rodriguez and his sons Marcelino Jr. and Abraham Hernandez Sr.
