It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Rebeca Ortega Davila on Friday, January 10th, 2025. Born on November 19, 1947, in San Augustin del Valdez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico Rebeca was a beacon of strength, resilience and perseverance. As a single mother, she raised six children with unwavering determination and ensured they were taken care of. For over 50 years, she was the matriarch of a large and loving family and was the meeting place for family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Raquel, and leaves behind her husband, Israel Guerrero, five children and their spouses: Alma Leticia and Saif, Jose Angel and Vicky, Julio Cesar and Yolanda, San Juanita and Fernando, and Rebecca (Becky) and Lupe, as well as 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on in each of them, a testament to her unyielding love and guidance. Rebeca lived a life full of simple joys and passions. She w a s a talented crocheter who turned yarn into beautiful keepsakes. She loved watching her favorite novelas, playing lotería with family, and embracing adventures during trips to the casino. Her playful spirit and love of gathering family brought people together and created countless cherished memories . Her passing is a devastating loss, but her memory will forever inspire strength, love, and unity in those she leaves behind. She was a remarkable woman who shaped so many lives with her kindness and example. Rest in peace, Rebeca. Your love and light will live on in our hearts forever.
