Jose Turrubiates

Jose Santiago Turrubiates, 93, passed away peacefully at his home on October 12, 2022. This was his final wish.

He was born July 25, 1929, in Abrego Guadalcazar, San Luis, to Pedro and Norberta (Torres) Turrubiates. He was married to Adela (Adelita) Turrubiates for 60 years.

He was born to a farming family and then migrated to Matamoros, Tamaulipas and then finally to Houston, Tx in search for a better life for his family. He helped bring his two sons with their families and daughter to Houston, and set the foundation for a better future.

Santiago Turrubiates was known to be a serious person, but many may be surprised to know that he was a funny and very playful person.

He is survived by his Son, Adan Turrubiates Sr and wife Raquel and daughter Adela Chavez and husband Juan Manuel Chavez. He is preceded in death by his son, Miguel Turrubiates.

He leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
