Frederic Andrew Kirkpatrick passed away July 2, 2021 at the age of 80 yrs. surrounded by a loving family. He was born April 4, 1941 in Hamilton, Ohio on a farm.
His family moved to Pasadena, Tx. when he was 16 yrs. old. He loved his adopted city. He graduated from Pasadena H.S. in 1959 & then The College of the Mines in Colorado. He was an electronic tech. & owned his own business for several years, then worked for Checkpoint where he traveled a lot, his favorite place was Australia, he loved telling stories about his travels, later worked at Houston Equipment Co. downtown Houston & in partial retirement at Walmart in Pasadena.
He married his soulmate, Melvalene (Johnes) Kirkpatrick on Oct. 25, 1975 in Batchtown, Ill. in a double ceremony w/her twin sister & her husband. In their long distance courting, they talked for hrs. on the Watts line after work. They would have been married 46 yrs. He was a very loving husband & father. He loved playing Santa Claus at Christmas time to his children as they grew up. He loved his chihuahua, Pancho, petting him & telling him stories as Pancho wagged his tail all the while. Another of his joys in life was dining out at his favorite restaurants w/his wife & sometimes children. His most favorite were Baytown Seafood & Cheddars.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh Randolph Kirkpatrick & Alice (Emmert) Kirkpatrick & 4 Uncles & 1 Aunt, all of Oxford, Ohio. Father & mother in law Melvin and Bertha Johnes
He is survived by his devoted wife, daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Getch of Vancouver, Washington, sons, Jason (Danny Seibert) Kirkpatrick of Houston, Tx., Jeremy Ryan Kirkpatrick of Spring, Tx. & Joshua Raymond Kirkpatrick of Pasadena, his grandson Brandon Getch & his step granddaughter Mariah Getch, both of Vancouver, Wash. and cousins, mostly of oxford, Ohio. Sister & brother in laws Jim & Theresa Johnes of Batchtown, Ill., Melba & Clark Hackney of Unionville, Missouri, Cathy & Phil Ritchey of O'Fallon, Missouri & several nieces & nephews.
Fred is being cremated as per his wish & no memorial service will be held.
