Ernest Edward Proesch was born on September 23,1923 in Lyndhurst, NJ. He passed away peacefully on August 7, 2022, one month shy of his 99th birthday and 75th Wedding Anniversary. He graduated from Lyndhurst High School and then joined the Army Air Corps as a pilot. He married the love of his life, Doris Connolly on September 13th, 1947.
He graduated from Newark College of Engineering on June 10, 1954 following 8 years of night school. An engineer by trade, his job took him around the world. In 1976, he moved to Texas where he enjoyed the warmer weather and year-round golf. He was an avid tennis player, and he enjoyed the opportunity to play tennis in the Senior Olympics, where he won numerous medals. Family and friends were very important to him. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years Doris, daughter Barbara Kevil, son Michael and his wife Mary Jane. In addition, he is survived by 6 grandchildren, Carolyn Gilton, Kimberly Diaz and her husband Jonathan, Brian Kevil and his wife Traci, Micala Bernardo and her husband Frank, Allison Sharp and her husband James Surma, Tyler Proesch and his wife Mia.
He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren who brought him much joy.
