Billy Roy Martin

Billy Roy Martin was born on August 30, 1953 in Ruston, Louisiana to Clara Bell Jackson and Lavelle Martin.

Billy graduated from Worthing High School in 1972 and attended Southern University. He later met and married Dorothy Martin who he shared an exuberant life, leading to the birth of two daughters, Yolanda Smith ad Margaret Martin. Billy maintained a successful career as a banquet manager at Stouffer Hotel and engineering manager at Hyatt Regency.

He was a man full of joy who enjoyed spending time and speaking with his family as often as possible. Billy relished laughter and told many jokes and broadcasted a plethora of stories to whomever he was surrounded by.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Clara Jackson and Lavelle Martin, his brothers Lavelle, Glen, Stanley, and Bruce Martin, his sisters Gladys Cloud and Wilma Brown. Billy leaves behind to cherish his life of lovely memories Dorothy Martin,(daughters) Yolanda Smith and Margaret Martin, (Yolanda’s husband) Willie Ray Smith, (grandson) Nirique Smith, (granddaughters) Neka and Niya Smith,(great grandson) Londyn Smith, (sisters) Deborah Martin and Paulette Gunn, (brothers) Mark Martin and Bobby Akins Jr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
