Athziri Elizabeth Cervantes Buentello

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Athziri Elizabeth Cervantes Buentello, who left us unexpectedly on March 31, 2025, at the age of 24.

Athziri was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, and raised in Houston and later Friendswood, Texas, where she grew into the thoughtful, smart, and warm-hearted woman so many admired. A graduate of Pasadena Memorial High School, she was a member of the track and field team and served as class president for four years. She later earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and hoped to return to school to pursue a career in nursing.

Her greatest fulfillment came from her community, especially in teaching karate, where she nurtured and mentored children with patience and dedication. She was happiest when caring for children. Athziri loved her family deeply and gave so much of herself to those she loved. She enjoyed capturing special moments for others in her photography hobby, sharing her talent with those around her.

Athziri’s personality was defined by her deep caring for others. She had a unique gift to make those around her feel truly seen and valued, always placing the needs of others before her own. She was gentle and compassionate, yet had a playful, goofy side that made her presence unforgettable. Her beauty radiated from within, and her generosity was felt by everyone she met.

Her love for candy was well-known, a sweet part of her personality that reflected her fun-loving spirit. Above all, she could comfort those in her presence.

Athziri’s legacy will live on through the love she spread to everyone around her. She had an incredible ability to make others feel cherished, and she would want those who knew her to carry that same love forward.

Athziri would want everyone to be as happy as she was, radiating kindness, laughter, and light. Her warmth will forever be a part of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and she will be remembered for the love she gave, her vibrant sense of style, and the joy she shared.

Athziri will be remembered by her father, Samuel Cervantes; her mother, Laura Buentello; her brother, Samuel Cervantes; as well as her many family members and friends.

Con gran tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Athziri Elizabeth Cervantes Buentello, quien nos dejó inesperadamente el 31 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 24 años. 

Athziri nació en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, y creció en Houston y después en Friendswood, Texas, donde continuó creciendo como la mujer considerada, inteligente y de buen corazón que tantos admiraban. Se graduó de Pasadena Memorial High School, fue miembro del equipo de atletismo y presidenta de la clase por cuatro años. Posteriormente, obtuvo su licenciatura en la Universidad de Houston y esperaba regresar a la escuela para seguir una carrera en enfermería. Su mayor satisfacción venía de su comunidad, especialmente al enseñar karate, donde cuidaba y orientaba a los niños con paciencia y dedicación. 

Ella era más feliz cuando cuidaba a los niños. Athziri amaba profundamente a su familia y daba mucho de sí misma a los que amaba. Disfrutaba capturar momentos especiales para otros a través de su hobby de la fotografía, compartiendo su talento con quienes la rodeaban. La personalidad de Athziri se definía por su profundo cuidado hacia los demás. Tenía un don único para hacer que quienes la rodeaban se sintieran realmente vistos y valorados, siempre poniendo las necesidades de los demás por encima de las suyas. Era amable y compasiva, pero también tenía un lado juguetón y divertido que hacía que su presencia fuera inolvidable. 

Su belleza radiaba desde su interior, y su generosidad era sentida por todos los que conocía. Su amor por los dulces era bien conocido, una parte dulce de su personalidad que reflejaba su espíritu alegre. Sobre todo, tenía la rara capacidad de reconfortar a aquellos en su presencia. El legado de Athziri vivirá a través del amor que compartió con todos a su alrededor. Tenía una increíble habilidad para hacer que los demás se sintieran apreciados, y ella quisiera que los que la conocieron llevaran ese mismo amor hacia adelante. 

Athziri quería que todos fueran tan felices como ella lo era, irradiando amabilidad, risas y luz. Su calidez será siempre parte de quienes tuvieron la suerte de conocerla, y será recordada por el amor que dio, su vibrante sentido del estilo y la alegría que compartió. Athziri será recordada por su padre, Samuel Cervantes; su madre, Laura Buentello; su hermano, Samuel Cervantes; así como por sus numerosos familiares y amigos.
