Andres P. Cervantes

Please join the Cervantes family in celebrating the life of our beloved father, Andres P. Cervantes. He entered the presence of our Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family. Andres peacefully passed away on October 13, 2023, at the age of 90. He was born on November 30, 1932, in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, to his parents, Amalia Pedraza and Anastacio Cervantes.

Andres cherished his time with the family, and we hold dear memories of Dad taking us to Galveston Beach. He retired at the age of 62 and relished his travels with Kathy, Gloria, and Joseph. He was fortunate to explore Europe, France, and Costa Rica with Anita and Rick Downes. Some weekends, Andres found solace at the Rocksprings Ranch with Mauro and Alberto Barrera, where he would sip his coffee outdoors, reminiscing about his past, especially recalling Johnny Rendon taking him to his hometown of Laredo.

We thank the Lord for blessing us with many years to enjoy our dad. To my dad in Heaven, you will forever reside in our hearts and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Villanueva Cervantes, his sisters: Maria Guajardo and Ventura Jarero, and his brothers: Guadalupe, Rafael, and Juan Cervantes.

Andres leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will be cherished forever. He is survived by his loving children: Argelia (Manuel) Laurel, Genaro (Gloria) Cervantes, Guadalupe (Johnny) Rendon, Ramiro Cervantes, Anita (Rick) Downes, and Martha (Mauro) Barrera. Andres was blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored him.

He also leaves behind countless relatives and friends who will forever remember his love and kindness.

It is our distinct honor to serve as pallbearers for the ceremony. Those bearing this responsibility are Andres Cervantes, Johnny Rendon, Anthony Aleman, Matthew Cervantes, Oscar Morales, and Raul Ruiz.
